WHAT MATTERS MOST
"Americans are overwhelmed with the complexity of health information. We have hit a point of information overload and the public health message is being diluted."
- Previous Surgeon General, Dr. Richard Carmona
What matters most when it comes to health and well-being is adherence to the basics. What we know is good. What we do is best. While health behaviors are often not exciting or easy to maintain, the best quality of life outcomes for busy adults result from every day adherence to positive behaviors, regardless of knowledge, experience, or risk status. Nothing changes, if nothing changes! The U.S. government launched HealthierUS to help Americans know what to do to enjoy a happy and healthy life. Unfortunately for millions of Americans, many will eventually experience the unnecessary pain, suffering, disability, financial burdens and possible premature death associated with decades of poor health and lifestyle choices. The main purpose of Westside Wellness is to engage, educate and empower members. By doing so many will realize and enjoy the life benefits of wellness.

A healthy lifestyle will postpone chronic disabilities 10 to 20 years. Morbidity, which is the time spent in pain and suffering before death, is also compressed by 75% through adherence to a healthy lifestyle. How are you going to enjoy your remaining years? Wellness is worth your best effort today!

Small Step # 151. Be flexible. You don't need to worry about just one meal or one day. Find your right balance between what you eat and the physical activity you do over several days.
